Just 2 days and counting..

In just 2 days time my little princess will turn 2 years old!
I am so excited for her special day but also very emotional. Any parent will know just how fast life seems to go when you have little ones running. Sometimes I wish we could all have a Bernard's Watch (does anyone remember that program?)

It is so difficult not to go over the top and this year has been no exception.
Keira is going to be one happy girl on her birthday morning.
We have spent an absolute fortune but I am honestly so excited to see her little face when she opens and sees her presents.

I have reviewed each product that we have got for her, though as we haven't built any of them yet will review them again in a couple of days one Keira has shared her opinion with us.

1. Ikea Duktig Kitchen. (RRP £90)
The Price: We luckily caught this kitchen in the sale and got it for £65. Like everyone I love a bargain so was happy to save a little bit of money on this.. even though I was more than happy to pay full price due to the excellent quality.
The Quality: I had seen so many children's toy kitchens from some major retailers however on closer inspection they appeared flimsy. This kitchen is so sturdy and chunky which is perfect for a heavy handed toddler.
The Product: I spent so much time searching online and reading all the different reviews because I wanted to make sure I spent the money wisely and got her something that she could keep for many years. We saw this one in our local Ikea and Keira ran up to it straight away. I knew then that it was just perfect for her!
It's simple but has a vintage look to it which I love. It features a light up hob which looks so realistic. We purchased some little pots and pans, the spoons and spatulas and some play food. The little pots & pans are so realistic! I cannot wait to build it for her and have a little play myself.

2. ELC Rosebud Dolls House (RRP £80)
The Price: This is currently retailing at £80. We had a 20% birthday club voucher which we used against the order (an added bonus!)
I was quite sceptical about spending this amount of money on a dolls house, however the child in me had already fallen in love with this and I knew Keira would absolutely love it.
The Quality: The dolls house itself is reasonably priced when you take into consideration the quality of the materials used and the sturdiness. This is definitely perfect for a heavy handed toddler and you can tell this is definitely going to last for many years.
The product: I absolutely love the girly colours. (I just hope and pray Keira does like the colour pink when she is older!) I also love the little families you can purchase separately too. As Keira is mixed raced (Black/White Caribbean and White British/Irish) I love toys that celebrate her culture. We have purchased a little white family and a little black family to represent both sides of her. The room sets are a little expensive (approximately £15 each) however we have purchased the living room and nursery and have family who are purchasing the rest as a gift for her so thats definitely worked in our favour.
The Service: The other thing I just have to mention is the service provided from the Early Learning Centre was absolutely excellent. On placing the order I recieved the confirmation straight away. I didn't realise the standard delivery service was up to 5 working days so I panicked a little that she wouldn't get it in time for her birthday. I rang early learning and they made sure it was despatched immediately and I received it the next day. Excellent service.

These are her 'main' presents but we have also purchased her a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Minnie & Friend's figurines, a Tinkerbell Fairy Outfit, An easel with a whiteboard and chalkboard, A shopping trolley, a Tea Set and a Keyboard with a little stool.
We already have a pile of presents building from family and friends who have popped in too :)

Thats the best thing of having a little girl :) x
